Classic German Motorcycle1955 Auto Union DKW RT 350 S
The RT 350 S represents the pinnacle of DKW's post-war motorcycle design and was build from 1955-1958
ruggedly build and designed for sidecar use , the 350 two- stroke twin was probably too expensive for its time and only 5290 units were produced. About 50-100 of those were imported. Today they are most sought after by DKW enthusiasts in Europe and all over the world. Various German companies sell NOS parts or manufacture accurate repro parts. Motorrad-Stemler is one of the better sources .
The one we have for sale here is an early 1955 model with frame number 4950 2591 and engine number 4900 2202 . DKW did not have a matching number policy so no reason for concern when numbers do not match.

A friend of mine, who I helped with restoring his RT 350, found a used pair on German ebay.some parts are not original; like the handle bars, clutch and brake levers and the twist grip. The bike is in running order, we have taken it on a 10 kilometre test run and every thing seems to work ok.Because of the new pistons the new owner will need to run it in carefully.
Speedo cable, we have ordered a new one in and will supply that with the bike
Gearbox neutral indicator switch is faulty, a new one is available from Motorrad-Stemler
Air filter also available from Stemler
Alloy carburettor covers, these are the most expensive missing parts and hard to find however the bike's performance is not affected by them.
